Hydrogen Fluoride (HF) is a common industrial compound used in various applications, such as the manufacturing of fluorine, superacids, refrigerants, pharmaceuticals and polymers, in glass etching, stainless steel pickling, silicon semiconductor chip production, the automotive industry, etc. HF is non-flammable, highly corrosive and very toxic and has a strong, irritating odour. To ensure final product quality and reduce waste, the HF concentration needs to be accurately monitored continuously and on-line.

The HF detector provides sensitive monitoring of HF in ambient air or in industrial process at ppbv-level within seconds.

The instrument is based on Sensor Sense cavity enhanced laser absorption spectroscopic technique providing high quality, interference free HF data as required for the most demanding industrial trace gas detection applications. It operates continuously and performs unattended on-line monitoring, without the need for wet chemicals. With integrated electronics and software and no moving parts or optics that require realignment, the detector requires virtually no maintenance. The internal computer can store large amounts of data and can be accessed remotely via USB or an internet connection. It is highly selective and sensitive, robust and relatively inexpensive.
